About
Cody Telfer
Founder & Installer
I've lived in London my whole life, and I've spent the last 15 years installing window film. I started out with a window film company, then spent 13 years subcontracting on my own, working with other window film companies, sign shops, and contractors on projects throughout Ontario and across Canada.
More than a million square feet of film later, I've worked hands-on with nearly every major category of architectural film and vinyl: solar control, safety and security, bird-safe, printed and decorative films, frosts, and architectural vinyl across commercial, institutional, and residential projects.
That much time on the tools teaches you things you can't fake: how film behaves on different surfaces, what holds up and what doesn't, and how to get a clean result when the job gets difficult. But what has kept me in this trade isn't just the technical side. It's watching film transform a space: cooling a room so people are more comfortable, turning a generic office into somewhere that feels sharp and finished, or helping someone feel more secure where they live and work. I still genuinely love the work.
After spending most of my career as the installer behind other companies' work, I wanted to build something where I'm accountable for the whole experience, not just the film on the glass. That means the advice, the communication, the quality of the installation, and how you're treated along the way. I show up when I say I will, I'm straightforward with people, and I do work I'd be comfortable putting my own name on.
My goal is to grow Canopy into a team that shares that same standard, and to pass on a trade I care about to people who'll take pride in it too.
After 15 years, I'm still learning. This industry keeps evolving, and I make a point of staying current with new products, installation techniques, standards, and the science behind how these materials actually perform. I bring that knowledge to every project so I can explain not just what I'm recommending, but why I'm recommending it and what you can realistically expect from it.
